PLANNING

a) APPEAL – 2013/0290/COU – Retention of use of land for the siting of a static caravan and shed used to support the agricultural uses of the land – Land West of Deans Lane.

An appeal had been lodged by the applicant to the Planning Inspectorate at Temple Quay, Bristol to extend the retention of the land for the caravan for a further three years.  The details of the appeal were considered and it was resolved to submit the following comment:

Newburgh Parish Council is concerned about the possibility of a three year extension to the permission for the caravan.  We suggest that a shorter timescale would allow the applicants to demonstrate the viability of the business and if appropriate apply for permission for a permanent agricultural building.

78/14
ADJOURNMENT OF MEETING FOR PUBLIC DISCUSSION
The meeting was adjourned for public discussion.  Borough Cllr Pope confirmed that West Lancashire Borough Council were finalising their response to the appeal, but the conclusion would be along the same lines as the Parish Council comment, namely that a shorter timescale should be given for an extension, should permission be granted by the Planning Inspectorate.

The meeting finished at 6.15pm.
